How do I send a direct message to a team?

This article will walk you through how to send a direct message to a team. This allows you to initiate a conversation with a team from the edit team view without having to create a conversation and specifically invite the team to participate. Sending a direct message to a team will automatically create a converesation with the team and it will appear in their conversation list.

  1. Under the Organization heading in the left hand side menu, click Teams.
  2. Select the team to send a direct message to either the tree view, list view, or card view.
  3. At the Edit Team page, click the Message icon.
  4. At the Send Message flyout, enter your message and click the Send button.
  5. The message will be available in the team member's Conversations. The title of the conversation takes the format of Chat: {{First Name of Sender}} - {{Team Name}}. If this is the first message between the creator and the team, a new conversation is created. Otherwise, the message is appended to the existing conversation between user and team.
